Pentecost Sunday 2017 (June 11) was the perfect feast and day to send our Class of 2017 out into the world.
The Commencement Exercises for our nine graduates took place in MacIsaac Hall following the 9:15 a.m. Mass. Faculty, friends and family gathered (some from as far as Hawaii!) to be a part of this historic day.
After the graduates marched in to the traditional Pomp and Circumstance, played by their underclassmen, they took their place on the stage where they were introduced by Brother Thomas Augustine, MICM, Superior and Principal. It was beautiful to note that five had attended IHM since first grade!
Salutatorian, Bridget Duffy addressed the audience first, followed by the Valedictorian for the Class of 2017, Dominik Fill. The Commencement Speaker for the event was Dr. Steve O'Brien who gave good spiritual advice and insight to the class in an inspiring speech. Take a few moments to watch their wonderful speeches here.
The climax of the event was, of course, the awarding of the diplomas by Brother Thomas Augustine.
Congratulations, cake and festive celebration followed as we bid farewell to this wonderful group of young people. We have complete confidence that they will carry their faith with them into their future! May God bless you, Class of 2017!
